Sew the labels and sleeves on those quilts you’ve been showing at Show ‘N Tell... finish up that quilt or textile project and get it ready for our bi-annual Quilt Show! We encourage every member to one quilt and/or piece of wearable or textile art or an art quilt.


Attached is a list of Committees and Committee Leaders, please contact them with any questions you have about any of this information!  The goal of the Quilt Show Committee is to provide a quilt show that will promote, preserve and encourage the art of quilting and provide Guild Members with an enjoyable experience to show off their work.

Please refer to the attached Quilt Show Entry Guidelines for more information about how to enter your quilts in the Quilt Show.  You may enter as many as 5 quilts and still enter quilted textiles, art quilts, the challenge quilt, and contribute a baby quilt or item that we typically donate to charity.


Quilted Textiles

Wearable art includes both wearable and non-wearable forms of art using fabric and other fiber products. Artists creating wearable or fiber art may use purchased finished fabrics or other materials, making them into garments, or may dye and/or paint virgin fabric. Entries may include garments, purses and bags, table toppers and a wide variety of other items! 


Art Quilts

Art Quilts are original works and designs. In this category pieces have been designed by the maker, not from a commercial pattern using fabrics that have been purchased or created by the artist.

Trunk Show and Bed Turning and Quilt Appraisals  Chairperson:  VACANT   Genie Barnes has again said she will come to appraise quilts and do critiques.

Membership Participation - High Five Points

A point system called “High Five” is established to encourage guild member participation in the Quilt Show and our Community Service Projects.  Points are awarded for volunteering your time working on the quilt show and for baby quilts, dolls and animals that you make throughout the year.  For every five points awarded, the guild member will be able to add an entry for a prize to be awarded at the first meeting following the quilt show.  High Five cards are always available at the front table at the Guild meetings.  Any time you help or participate with anything related to the quilt show, you may have one of the Committee Heads initial your card.  When you have all 5 points on a card, place it in the High Five Box at the Quilt Show table and get another card for more chances to win the prize!  No limit on number of entries. 


Gift Gallery   Chairpersons: Marcy Williams 585-738-0936 and Paula Sholts  585-729-3522   Guild members can earn money by making quilted items to sell in the Gift Gallery.  Slightly used quilt/sewing items will also be accepted. PLEASE NO Garage Sale items!!  To receive High 5 Points: Member is asked to volunteer at least one hour of their time at the booth during show hours.  Please obtain the Gift Gallery Agreement  from the Committee Chairs. ( Form will also be available online).

  • Sales tax is the responsibility of the individual. 

  • Lake to Lake Quilt Guild will not be responsible for the loss of any articles consigned to the Gift Gallery.

  • Seller will provide Price tags and seller must securely affix these tags to their goods and price all items before submitting them to the Gift Gallery.  Gift Gallery volunteers will add Gift Gallery number to each item.

  • Members participating must fill out the Participation Agreement and present it with items for the Gift Gallery to the Committee Leader no later than April 4, 2018 and pay the table fee.   No exceptions!

  • Items must be brought to the Geneva Community Center between 2PM – 6PM on Thursday, May 17, 2018

  • One High Five point will be awarded for each shift volunteered at the Gift Gallery.


Raffle Door Prizes:   Chairperson:

Members are encouraged to donate an item to our extra large baskets we will be giving as a door prizes.  Earn a High Five point for each item donated to the baskets.


Quilt Show Guest Favors:  We are making flowers like those that were made for the 2016 show. We need approximately 500 flowers and ask that each of our members contribute 10 flowers. Directions can be found on the website files. These flowers can be made of fabric, crocheted, knitted, or anything else you might like to use.    They should be no more than 2" to 3" in size.   Each will have a backing and a jewelry pin attached to the back.

Do you know a merchant that might like to participate?  Have them contact the Chairpersons soon!  We look forward to offering about 10-12 different quilt and sewing related merchants in the gymnasium with the quilts.


Community Service: Baby Quilts and Charity Items we make  NEED A VOLUNTEER TO COORDINATE

One section of the quilt show will be devoted entirely to the Lake to Lake Quilt Guild Service Project, highlighting Flo’s Baby Quilt Project, placemats, chemo caps, adult bibs, etc.
